Over the holidays, we traveled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to visit my wife's parents. While there, MIDROC Corporation (my father in-law's company) invited me to speak about my experiences across engineering, business and design, and to share perspective about strategic innovation and the new role of design in the workplace.
What started out as an introductory meeting with MIDROC's Commissioner and Training Director, ended up spilling into a 2nd meeting with 45 of MIDROC's top general managers, CEOs and Commissioners. The session lasted two hours and I learned as much from them as they might have learned from me. It was an honor to engage such a prestigious group of leaders and experts.
I hope to visit MIDROC Corporation again on my next trip to Ethiopia. They are truly investing in the country making Ethiopia's future very bright.
